2. Description of Service

CareerPhases provides career planning, income tracking, and financial management tools, including:

• Income tracking and P25 baseline calculations
• Budget planning and expense tracking
• Career transition planning and job search tools
• Financial goal setting and progress tracking
• Integration with financial institutions via Plaid
• AI-powered career coaching and insights

3. User Accounts

When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for:

• Safeguarding your password and account access
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

4. Subscription and Billing

Some features of CareerPhases require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to:

• Pay all fees associated with your subscription plan
• Automatic renewal unless you cancel before the renewal date
• Price changes with notice provided at least 30 days in advance

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@careerphases.com for refund requests.

The information, tools, and insights provided through CareerPhases are for informational and educational purposes only. They should not be considered:

• Professional financial advice
• Tax advice or tax preparation services
• Investment recommendations
• Legal or career counseling

6. Plaid and Financial Connections

When you connect financial accounts through Plaid:

• You authorize us to access your account information in read-only mode
• Your bank credentials are never stored by CareerPhases
• You may disconnect your accounts at any time
• Data accuracy depends on your financial institution's data feed

By using Plaid, you also agree to Plaid's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CareerPhases and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our Service without express written permission.

9. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CareerPhases shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, or use
• Financial losses resulting from reliance on information provided by the Service
• Service interruptions or data loss

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CareerPhases and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitute acceptance of the new Terms.
