CareerPhases is an AI-assisted career and income management platform. This page explains, at a high level, how data is used within the platform.

What Data CareerPhases Uses
- Account profile information: email address and basic profile fields you provide during registration.
- User-entered career and income details: goals, budgets, plans, and other information you add to the platform.
- Optional bank transaction and balance data: if you choose to connect a bank account, transaction and balance information is imported for budgeting visibility.
- Usage data: aggregated and anonymized data about how the platform is used, for product improvement purposes.
What CareerPhases Does Not Do
- CareerPhases does not sell personal data.
- CareerPhases does not move money or initiate transfers.
- CareerPhases does not access bank credentials directly. Bank connections are handled by Plaid.
- CareerPhases does not guarantee employment, compensation, or financial outcomes.
- CareerPhases does not provide financial, tax, legal, or investment advice.
Bank Connections (Plaid)
- Bank connections are optional.
- Connections are read-only.
- Bank data is used to import transactions and balances for budgeting visibility.
- Users can disconnect their bank accounts at any time.

AI Usage and Limitations
- CareerPhases AI Coach provides planning assistance and suggestions based on the information you provide.
- AI-generated outputs may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
- Users are responsible for reviewing AI suggestions and deciding what actions to take.
- Do not upload highly sensitive information that you would not want summarized or processed by AI systems.
Data Retention and User Control
- Users can update or delete certain information from their account settings.
- For data deletion or export requests, contact support at support@careerphases.com.
- Retention periods may vary depending on data type and legal requirements.
Security and Access
- CareerPhases uses industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS).
- Access controls and least-privilege design are applied to limit data exposure.
- No system can be fully secure. CareerPhases applies reasonable measures to protect data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
